Meet the Staff 

 Elisabeth Larsen, Owner

I went into business for myself after spending a few years both in the corporate world and in academia.  My background is in biology and analytical/environmental chemistry, but my first love has always been animals.

I've been owned by both cats and dogs, however, the current Larsen tribe is comprised of a three-generation feline family:  Kevin, a red-tabby and white moggie born in San Antonio Texas in July 1990; Nomee, an all black former street cat from Allegan County Michigan born about October 1997; and Rusty, a red-tabby and white Siamese/Maine Coon mix from Midland County Michigan, born in August 2002. Kevin is the office manager at Lis's Pet Sitting Service.

My experience with animals includes not only cats and dogs, but also ferrets, rabbits, and various other caged animals and special needs animals, including pets with diabetes, chronic kidney failure, cancer, Addison's Disease, and mobility impaired pets.

I am also involved in dog and cat rescue in Midland County with Heart of Michigan Animal Rescue.

     

 Tracy Schultz, Independent Contractor

I first met Tracy while we were in high school together, and we worked together at Eastman Animal Clinic in Midland Michigan in the late '80s under the supervision of Dr James W  Pierce.  Tracy has considerable experience in working with pets who require medication, and with dogs, cats, rabbits and horses.  Tracy is involved in dog, cat and rabbit rescue.

 Sue Havers, Independent Contractor 

Sue is a fellow client of Eastman Animal Clinic.  She currently owns five dogs, one cat, and fish.  However, Sue has experience with other types as pets as well, including turtles, lizards, various types of freshwater fish, and horses.  Sue also has experience with special needs animals including dogs with diabetes, Cushing's Disease, brain tumors, and various injuries.  Sue's special interest is in dog and cat rescue work.

ELISABETH LARSEN earns Accreditation from Pet Sitters International

, – Elisabeth Larsen, a pet sitter who owns Lis’s Pet Sitting Service, has earned the distinction of being a PSI Accredited Pet Sitter, according to an announcement from Pet Sitters International.

PSI is the world’s largest and most progressive association for professional pet sitters, with more than 7,400 members in all 50 states, most of the Canadian provinces and 10 others countries.  In order to earn accreditation, a pet-sitter must conform to PSI guidelines and demonstrate proficiency and professionalism in business skills and practices.  The curriculum covers the care of various species of companion animals, pet health and nutrition, business and office procedures, and additional pet-care services commonly offered by pet sitters.  Each chapter was especially tailored to provide the knowledge and proficiencies required of a professional pet sitter.  The requirements of the Accreditation Program help ensure a high level of pet-care competency.  This means that pet owners can rely on a PSI Accredited Pet Sitter for top-quality care for their furry family members.
