The Importance of Reading Labels

It is important to read and understand the ingredients labeled on pet foods.  Ingredients are listed in the order of their volume percentages.  For example, if Wheat Gluten is the first ingredient listed, then Wheat Gluten is the major ingredient in the food.

By-Products

By-products can include intestines, chicken heads, feet and feathers and bones.  Chicken, beef and pork by-products are not required to contain actual meat.  Rendered meat products can be any rendered mammel meat, including dogs and cats.
